EMBO Award for Communication in the Life Sciences

The European Molecular Biology Organization launched this award in 2002 in order to give recognition to the huge efforts that some scientists make to communicate their science to the public while remaining fully active in research.

Award description
A practising life scientist will receive the EMBO Award for Communication in the Life Sciences for outstanding work in the area of science communication to the public.

Prize
The winner was awarded 5,000 euro, accompanied by a silver and gold medal inscribed with the winner’s name.

Please note - There will be no call for the 2009 communication award.
