Investigator Programme Laboratory Management Course
EMBO recognises the importance of management skills for a successful career in science today and has, in partnership with two consulting teams, designed this course specifically for the needs of postdocs. During the three-day course, participants will get training in communication and negotiation skills, conflict solving strategies and team building as well as concrete ideas for their future professional role as group leaders. Short theoretical inputs will be followed by extensive practical exercises. “As much theory as necessary and as much practise as possible” is the principle of this course. Since most postdocs are responsible for their own projects and lead teams or sub-groups, this course will help to facilitate both their current work and future projects. Please Note Travel has to be covered and arranged by the participants. The participant number per course is limited to 16. 2008/ 2009
